What's involved

Manufacturing a staircase involves several steps: Design: Start by designing the staircase according to the requirements and space available. Consider factors like dimensions, materials, style, and safety regulations. Material Selection: Choose the appropriate materials for the staircase. Common materials include wood, metal, glass, concrete, or a combination of these. Cutting and Shaping: Cut the materials according to the design specifications. This may involve using tools like saws, drills, and routers to shape the components. Assembly: Assemble the different parts of the staircase, such as steps, risers, stringers, and balustrades. This process may vary depending on the type of staircase (straight, spiral, curved, etc.). Joinery: Use appropriate joinery techniques to secure the different components together. This could include techniques like gluing, nailing, screwing, or welding, depending on the materials used. Finishing: Finish the staircase by sanding the surfaces to remove any rough edges and applying a finish or coating to enhance durability and appearance. This could involve staining, painting, varnishing, or applying a protective sealant. Installation: Install the staircase in its designated location, ensuring proper alignment, stability, and safety. This may require the help of experienced professionals, especially for complex installations or large-scale projects. Quality Control: Perform thorough inspections to ensure that the staircase meets quality standards and safety regulations. Make any necessary adjustments or repairs as needed. Throughout the manufacturing process, it’s important to prioritize safety and quality to ensure that the final product is durable, functional, and visually appealing.

Great firm, we purchased a staircase from them some time ago which fitted perfectly - pretty amazing as they never visited -all done using our plans. The company noticed a potential problem, rang and asked me to check a measurement. They are amazing. I recently visited the website as I have passed a recommendation to a very good friend.

My Joiner recommended Burbeary Joinery to me as he had fitted their staircases before and has always been impressed. From start to finish this company was 5 stars. Good, responsive feedback and communication throughout, a quality product, reasonable price, delivered on time. I don't often need staircases but the next time I do, I will be a returning customer. Highly recommend. Adam in York.
